Richard Salzman invites you to the 16th ANNUAL COMMUNITY GATHERING AT PAMPLIN GROVE
Look back. We were colorful. We questioned, we played, we fought, danced and sang. We railed, rallied and raged. We looked forward, we walked upright. Uprising was in the air, and we inhaled. Those times asked us to stand. We marched. Look back. Yea, it was a hell of a time, the time we tell of. We tell it to our peers, our kids and grandkids. It’s rare we get to howl like we did that time. Look forward. Time again to color outside the lines. June 14, 15 & 16: Time to howl again with Richard’s gang. Party old school with peers, puppies, elders and kids in Pamplin Grove. It’s a pristine, old growth Redwood forest, resting on nine hundred acres of Cenozoic era, former ocean floor, now sculpted by a half mile of wild river. It has a log cabin cookhouse too. We’ve got this place all to ourselves three days straight. Oh, will we inhale. Our code opens the gate Friday noon. Bring a hat for the sun, sleeves for skeeters, layers for later, a bag for sleep, something to drink, an instrument for the bonfire ring and a dog or two if you have’em. Find snacks and sandwiches at that cookhouse all weekend. Or come Saturday bearing carbs to contribute to the big potluck dinner. Veggies, fish and beef will be grilled fresh and fast. Finally, breakfast will be served Sunday morning. Look forward. Let your June 14 begin a weekend in harmony with nature around us, within us. Time again to stand, sing, march, wine, dine...party like it’s 1969.
Rustic campsites sleep up to 15 folk or stay Inn for the nights, park your posse atRiver Bar Pharms, just down the road from Pamplin Grove. We’ll send a shuttle to the ACV airport for out-of-town travelers or arrange a carpool from Arcata, because it’s going to be fun to have you there.
