Bogart said that about a bird. Anais Nin said, "Dreams are necessary to life." The first Australians say dream time is real; the rest of our time here, illusion. Dreams are necessary.
The smell of the sea brings me dreams of fish and adventure. She dreams of building soil that feeds the world as she clips weeds to her compost. We lovers of earth can dream a year fueled by one weekend at Pamplin Grove.
Choose to live and struggle for a more just earth? Dream one first. Let the dream shine on nature; a little beauty in our light. And don't settle for a weekend away. Come home to the source. Richard Salzman invites you to Pamplin Grove, again!
It’s Richard's 15th Annual Community Cookout at Pamplin Grove. It’s a party. And it falls this year mid-week on the 4th of July. More precisely, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and a little Saturday.
The wild Van Duzen runs through it. Almost a thousand acres of pristine old growth wilderness, and we have the whole place for our party together. Celebrate your independence. Gather with good people in a place that builds community, where the future is dreamt, where culture is made.
The Gates open Wednesday Noon July the 4th. A simple dinner will be served before the first bonfire. After breakfast Thursday morning, the schedule’s clear for volleyball, horseshoes, hiking, a jump in the river, reading and music...lots of music. Save a little time for an excellent, old school, argument.
July 5th, share the big pot luck, the biggest, safest campfire. Sleep under the stars, throw a tent over yourselves or stay in the truck but don't stay home on the 4th. We’ll shuttle you to a motel if we have to. Bring the friendly dog.
Friday breakfast is the last meal provided. Saturday the 7th we break camp early so we can all make tracks by 10am. Enjoy the whole shebang or just drop in for Thursday’s potluck jamboree. Head home refreshed, renewed and ready for the fight. Dream on!
