Doesn’t it feel like we’re still emerging from an eight year winter? Look, we’ll be shoveling for years to come, but you know you need to kick up your heels and salute the light now. Celebrate "the End of an Error and a New Day in America"
YES! YOU CAN, attend the 6th annual - Community Cookout at Pamplin Grove - in Humboldt County, California USA on the weekend of August 29th, 2009.
Ask anyone who’s been! It is a fabulous place to stay the weekend, or to cruise in for Saturday's potluck. This is a jewel of a campground nestled in a majestic cathedral of old growth redwoods on the banks of the Van Duzen River ...and we have the entire campground to ourselves for the weekend!
Friends, family, kids and well behaved dogs are all welcome. Individual campsites sleep from 1 to 15 people. You can pretty much get all you want to eat up at the cookhouse, so if you are camping, you don't need much more then a tent, sleeping bag and pad to be comfortable.
Interesting people in abundance, music, sunshine, volleyball, horseshoes, swimming holes and a bonfire are all included.
The official festivities start 10 a.m. Saturday the 29th. The big potluck dinner and bonfire will begin late that afternoon. A hearty breakfast will be served at the cookhouse Sunday morning. Early campers should check with me if they want to arrive on Friday the 28th.
Car pools from the airport and loaner camping gear can be arranged for out of town guests, and if you don't want to camp, there are motels in nearby Fortuna. You are also welcome to just come out for the day, enjoy the river, the music, some lawn games, and Saturday's potluck.
If you hope to attend, please rsvp now for more detailed information including directions and the gate lock combination
